WASHINGTON – On Wednesday, April 17 at 3:15 p.m. ET, U.S. Rep. Jesús “Chuy” Garcia (D-IL) will join impacted  families, labor, business and community leaders at the House Triangle to urge the Biden administration to extend work permits to long-term immigrants. 

, and supported by immigration advocates, the Biden administration took action to protect work permits for nearly 800,000 immigrants. But millions of long-term undocumented immigrants who have paid taxes and cared for their families for years are still awaiting an opportunity to even apply. Work permits are fundamental to opportunity and stability in employment. Rep. Garcia and the collective will urge the Biden administration to expand access to them today.
